Theoretical lessons about rivers in our countries

[ang]: Good evening! On the third day of our activities in Poland, we were surprised by the abundant rain and we had to cancel our trip to Barania Góra, but we did not waste time and we spent this time just actively as always. We stayed in the hotel for theoretical classes and lectures. We started with a short presentation and discussion about river trekking, which is form of physical activity particularly popular in south-east Asia. Next, each group prepared presentations and posters on the subject of popular waters in their country and threats that may threaten the rivers. We started discussions with the polish grup, through Croatian and ending with Italian. We compared and summarized our observations, at the same time making the arguments „What can be done to avoid these risks?”. When the weather allowed us to do so, we went for a wolk to a nearby forest to identify plants near the river and make up the area where it was located. Welcome to Poland!

[ang]: Hi everyone! Punctually at 7:00 we met in front of the school to go to the hotel together and welcome our colleagues from Italy and Croatia. After a short welcome by Polish teachers and employess of the Gaja Club, we divided into four international teams, two of them returned to school and two went to Błędowska Desert. At the school, teachers from the University of Silesia were waiting for us. We started our activities from „diversity of invertebrates used in river monitoring”. Together with the teacher conducting activity, we went to river Koszarawa near the school. With the help of nets and sieves and in special waterproof clothing, we searched for as many different microorganisms as possible in the water. After returning to school, we tried to identify all caughtbinvertebrates using special equipment, including watch glass and microscope. [ang.] Grettings from beautiful town in Croatia-Karlovac. Yesterday after a nine-hour ride, we arrived to our hotel in the afternoon. We met with the rest of the group for a dinner at the local Tiffany pizzeria. After a delicious breakfast we went to the Gimnazjum Karlovac. There we were introduced to local teachers and lectures. We heard two lectures given by biologists from ecological organisation-Natura Viva. After short assigning us to groups we went for a lunch. Then we went to two-hours cruise on the Kupa River. [Pol.] Meldujemy się z pięknej, chorwackiej miejscowowci Karlovac. Po dziewięciogodzinnej podróży dojechaliśmy wczoraj wieczorem do naszego hotelu. Z resztą grupy spotkaliśmy się na kolacji w miejscowej pizzerii Tiffany. Po pysznym porannym śniadaniu udaliśmy się do miescowej szkoły- Gimnazjum Karlovac. Tam przedstawiono nam tutejszych nauczycieli i wykładowców. Usłyszeliśmy dwa wykłady poprowadzone przez biologów z organizacji ekologicznej Natura Viva. Po krótki...
